Ali Abdulla
UAE Country Chair, Petrofac

With more than 35 years’ energy sector experience, Ali Abdulla is Petrofac’s UAE Country Chair. Holding a BSc in Electronics Engineering, he began his career at American Oil Company in 1987, before joining bp in 1998.

Ali has fulfilled various roles, a number of which have been related to a mix of complex, multidiscipline projects and proposals within various sectors working across the Middle East, Africa and Europe. He is a Health and Safety expert, with significant experience in leading teams and has been involved in both gas, oil and renewables, operations and maintenance, engineering, integrity and marine activities, developing a breadth of knowledge across the course of his career.

He joined Petrofac in 2010 as Heath Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) Director, Asset Solutions. Prior to his current role, Ali was Vice President Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Asset Integrity (HSSEIA) for the Company’s Engineering and Construction division.

In his current role as ambassador in-country, Ali represents the Petrofac Group across the entire portfolio, in the ongoing development of the company’s full-service capability offering and presence across the Emirates. He is an advocate of Petrofac’s Graduate Development Programme in the UAE, as the company continues to invest in developing young talent across its key markets. Ali is well respected by his peers for his focus on people, while maintaining a safe team-working ethos.
