Emirates Group and Dubai Airports Economic Impact Study

On 23 October 2024 Emirates Group and Dubai Airports released an economic impact study, compiled by Oxford Economics, that reaffirms the central role aviation plays in Dubai’s economy. It illustrates how the aviation sector is fuelling economic growth, innovation and economic diversification in Dubai.

27% of Dubai's GDP is now powered by the aviation sector, with an economic contribution nearing US$40bn. The sector supports over 630,000 jobs in Dubai and this number will increase by 185,000 by 2030. The catalytic impact of tourism facilitated by aviation contributed nearly US$12bn to Dubai's economy in 2023.

Dubai is now future-proofing the industry, by expanding capacity at Dubai International, and building a new airport - Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International - that will be five times the size of the current airport upon completion.
