The UAE-UK Business Council hosted a Summit to identify opportunities for collaboration between the two countries in the energy transition sector.
Taking place alongside the Energy Industries Council’s Energy Exports Conference (June 14-15) and midway between CoP26 and CoP28, the Summit focussed on three key issues – what needs to be done over the next five years in order to sustain progress towards Net Zero; reskilling the workforce in preparation for the energy transition; and financing the energy transition. Each Panel Discussion featured speakers from both the UAE and the UK.
Hosted by Lord Udny-Lister, UK Co-Chair of the UAE-UK Business Council, distinguished guests included Rawdha Al Otaiba, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to London, David Rennie, Global Head of Energy at Scottish Development International and Cllr Ron McKail, Deputy Provost of Aberdeenshire. We were also joined by other senior dignitaries as well by an audience of more than 100 senior decision-makers from across the industry.
Pictures and videos from the event will soon be posted in our gallery and YouTube channel respectively however we will also publish a Whitepaper featuring key recommendations raised on the day.
The Business Council would like to take this opportunity to thank our three sponsors - Petrofac, Wood and Xodus. It was with their support that we were able to deliver our largest event to date and convene industry leaders to discuss this important topic.
